Hungarian wine queen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hungarian Wine Queen (Hungarian: Magyarország Borkirálynője ) represents the wines and viticulture in Hungary .

In 2008 a country wine queen was elected for the first time. It was Mária Ildikó Götz from Hercegkút , near Sárospatak . The election took place in July at the Wine Festival (Hungarian: Borkiralynő Fesztivál ) in Tarcal .

Local and regional wine queens existed before that. At least a “Beata vom Plattensee” has been handed down for 2001.
