The Republika Srpska is one of two entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina . According to the "Law on Territorial Organization and Local Self-Government" of 1994, it was divided into 80 municipalities. These also included areas that are now part of the federation or the Brčko district . After the Dayton Peace Agreement , the law was revised in 1996. Since then, the Republika Srpska consisted of 62 municipalities. In 2014 Stanari was added as the 63rd parish.

Renamed parishes

On February 27, 2004 the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a position on the renaming of some municipalities in the Republika Srpska. It found violations of the constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the addition "Srpski" in particular violates the principle of equality between the ethnic groups. After this decision, the Republika Srpska began renaming the affected municipalities again. On September 22nd, 2004, the Court of Justice officially decided to reverse the names that were used in the meantime or to replace them with new names. The following municipalities are affected, which are mostly part of municipalities divided by the IEBL :
