Krupa na Uni ( Serbian - Cyrillic Крупа на Уни ; "Krupa an der Una") is an association municipality (opština) in the north-west of Bosnia and Herzegovina . It is located south of the Una in the mountains east of Bosanska Krupa and was created in 1992 during the Bosnian War as a split off from the pre-war community of Bosanska Krupa and was named after it. In the Republika Srpska it lies directly on the entity boundary .
geography
The next larger towns in the area are Bosanska Krupa and Bosanska Otoka, both of which belong to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina . The nearest town within the Republika Srpska is Novi Grad about 24 kilometers north. The bank of the Una River, after which it is named, only touches the municipality for a short section of about one and a half kilometers in the extreme north.
Krupa na Uni includes the districts of Donji Dubovik, Donji Petrovići, Gornji Bušević, Hašani, Mali Dubovik, Osredak, Otoka (share), Potkalinje (share), Srednji Bušević, Srednji Dubovik, Srednji Petrovići and Veliki Dubovik (share).
history
Until the beginning of the Bosnian War in 1992, the districts of today's municipality belonged to the community of Bosanska Krupa and were separated from it by the demarcation of the boundary under the Dayton Agreement .
population
At the 2013 census, the community had 1,597 inhabitants. Of these, 1592 referred to themselves as Serbs . Thus Krupa na Uni is the municipality in Bosnia with the highest Serbian population (99.69%). Before the ethnic upheaval of the Bosnian War, around 29 of the population were Bosniaks .
Infrastructure
The municipality of Krupa na Uni has only one primary school. Not all districts are connected to the community center in Donji Dubovik by paved roads.
In the Una Valley in the north, Magistralstrasse 14 and the Una Railway cross the municipality, but from there there is no connection to the rest of the municipality.
