Prozor-Rama (German outdated Prosser ) is a municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina . The municipality is located in the north of Herzegovina and has an area of about 480 km². It belongs to the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton within the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina . The main town of Prozor (7,000 inhabitants) is located about 55 km north of Mostar and 70 km west of Sarajevo .
On the territory of the municipality, in the valley of the Upper Rama, there is a large Ramsko jezero reservoir .
history
Numerous testimonies from the Moustérien (125,000 to 60,000 BC), the Eneolite (2400 to 1800 BC) and from the Illyrian and Roman times have been found in the villages of the municipality of Rama (including the remains of a basilica of St. Barbara from the 6th century AD).
In the 7th century the Slavs immigrated to the area of Rama.
