Foča-Ustikolina is one of three municipalities in the canton of Bosnian Podrinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina . The municipality with about 2,200 inhabitants is located on the upper reaches of the Drina and belongs to the federation , one of two entities of the south-east European state.

The municipality is located in the mountainous east of the country, the mountains here reach heights of more than 1500 m. The Drina meanders in a narrow valley between the mountains. The municipality seat Ustikolina is located on the left bank of the Drina about 10 km north of Foča and 20 km southwest of Goražde . The Montenegrin border is only 12 km away, but the nearest border crossing is 36 km.

The municipality consists of the settlements Bavčići, Bešlići, Bunčići, Cvilin, Donje Žešće, Filipovići, Jabuka, Kolakovići, Lokve, Mazlina, Mravljača, Njuhe, Petojevići, Podgrađe, Slavikoviići, Rodojeljići, Radojeljići, Slaviojići, Sorijevilaci, Radojeljići , Ustikolina, Zabor and Zebina Šuma.

history

The municipality of Foča-Ustikolina consists of the northern part of the former municipality of Foča , separated by the Dayton Treaty by the inner-Bosnian border , the larger southern part of which now belongs to the Republika Srpska .

Economy and Infrastructure

Ustikolina is located on the east Bosnian main road 20 ( Dubrovnik -Foča- Višegrad ). This represents the only modern traffic route in the municipality. The western part of the municipality south of the Jahorina Mountains is partially undeveloped; the settlements located there can only be reached via unpaved roads.
