Ravno is a place and the associated community in the south of Bosnia and Herzegovina . The Ravno municipality belongs to the Herzegovina-Neretva canton in the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina . The parish arose when the Trebinje parish was divided by the entity boundary with the Dayton Treaty . The western part today forms the municipality of Ravno, which with around 3,300 inhabitants is one of the smallest municipalities in the country.

At the 1991 census there were a total of 2957 inhabitants in the area of today's Ravno commune, including
- Croatians : 2274 (76.9%)
- Serbs : 621 (21.0%)
- Muslims (as a nationality) : 32 (1.1%)
- Others: 30 (1.0%)

Ravno is about 120 kilometers south of Sarajevo and has a total area of around 286 square kilometers. The Ravno municipality has an extension of about 50 kilometers in length (from northwest to southeast) and 8 kilometers in width (from southwest to northeast).

Ravno was previously served by the narrow-gauge Dalmatian Railway.

Ravno borders Croatia for around 70 km to the west . The neighboring municipalities are Neum in the north, Dubrovnik (Republic of Croatia) in the west and Trebinje (RS) in the east.
