Unified Link-Layer API

The Unified Link-Layer API (ULLA) is a programming interface that can be used by applications to query and track the properties of communication links and to change the configuration.

ULLA is particularly suitable for radio communication, as the conditions of a radio channel change more quickly. ULLA is platform-independent and thus runs e.g. B. both on Microsoft Windows CE systems, on Linux or on the TinyOS sensor operating system .

Another major advantage of ULLA is the fact that the same interface can be used for different technologies, such as B. WLAN , Bluetooth or GPRS is offered. All technology-specific details are hidden behind the universal interface, but all details can still be accessed if desired.

ULLA is being developed in the EU research project GOLLUM in the 6th framework program in the area of ​​"Information Society Technologies (IST)".
