Union Frintrop (officially: Sportverein Union Frintrop 1913 eV ) was a sports club from the Essen district of Frintrop . The first team took part in the DFB Cup once.

history

The association was founded in 1913. In 1955, the team was promoted to the district class. Four years later, the team rose after a decider defeat against SuS Oberhausen . After the interim recovery, Union achieved promotion to the Lower Rhine regional league in 1971 . In the 1978/79 season, the club qualified for the DFB Cup, where the team lost 5-0 at KSV Baunatal in the first round . Then the club disappeared into lower leagues. From 2008 to 2013 Union played again in the district league. One year after relegation, the club joined the neighboring club Adler Frintrop .
