from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Union des femmes de Genève was one of the first women's and moral associations in Switzerland, which set itself the goal of fighting not prostitution, but its causes. The association was founded in 1891 by Emma Pieczynska-Reichenbach by breaking away from the Swiss Women's Association for the Elevation of Morality , the Swiss section of the International Federation for the abolition of prostitution .

The association actively campaigned for the economic and legal betterment of the Geneva women . For example, he set up a counseling center and a legal service, submitted information to the authorities or conducted a survey on the working conditions of the Geneva women in order to better identify their problems and thus better represent their interests.
