United Nations Plaza (San Francisco)
In San Francisco , United Nations Plaza is the name of a 1.05 hectare square that was created in 1975 in the central Civic Center district . The square was originally designed by the landscape architect and educator Lawrence Halprin (* 1916) and was named in memory of the signing of the United Nations Charter in 1945. In 2005, the square was redesigned. On Wednesdays and Sundays there is a farmer's market in the square with products from farmers in the San Francisco area .
