The Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) is a university in Managua , Nicaragua .

history

From 1870 it was part of the liberal emancipation and state formation in Central America to create state educational institutions and to force the church out of the educational system. The UCA Nicaragua was the first private university, which was founded on June 23, 1960 by the Compañía de Jesús in Central America. She began her university career on June 5, 1961 with chairs for business administration, electromechanics and civil engineering in the old center of Managua at the Cine González and veterinary medicine in Rivas. In 1965, Johannes XXIII. a building for social research and planning which was built with funds from the German development cooperation. In 1966 an institute for Central American history and a human sciences faculty with courses in psychology, social education, philosophy, literature and social sciences were founded.
