The UIDE (Universidad Internacional del Ecuador) is a self-financing private university based in Quito , Ecuador . It was founded in 1992 by Marcelo Fernández. He is also President of the Federation of Private Universities of Ecuador (CEUPA). The UIDE is managed by the Jorge Fernandez Foundation, which consists of members of the Fernandez family.
In the Cumbayá Valley, north of central Quito, the 33 hectare campus was opened in 2002 and is still under construction. It also houses a botanical garden, as well as a golf course and horse stables. The university also offers a number of courses in Loja and Guayaquil .
The university offers courses in economics (economics, business administration with specializations) as well as in law , interior design, computer science, medicine, dentistry, graphic design, public relations and journalism.
