The Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Gran Caracas (UNEXCA) is a public university in Venezuela , which is supervised by the Ministry of University Education, Science and Technology and whose headquarters are in the urbanization La Floresta, municipality of Chacao, east of the geographic center of Greater Caracas , is located. It was founded on February 27, 2018.

history

The Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Gran Caracas was created from the merger of the University of Caracas (CUC), the Francisco de Miranda University (Cufm) and the José Lorenzo Pérez University (Cujlp). The founding was announced by President Nicolás Maduro on the occasion of the Student Day on November 21, 2017, in order to contribute to scientific and technological sovereignty.

This university center is responsible for the management of the National Training Programs (NFP) and the Career and Further Education Program (PFA), which are authorized by the Office for University Planning (OPSU). In addition, three courses of study were introduced that lead to the Técnico Superior Universitario : special education, pre-school education and social work. There are also further training opportunities for postgraduates in the areas of social sciences and humanities, engineering and information sciences.

On August 1, 2018, Professor Alí Ramón Rojas Olaya was appointed first rector.
