The Universidad del Trabajo del Uruguay (UTU) is a university in Uruguay .

The university, which is comparable to a technical college , is located in the Barrio Palermo in Montevide on Calle San Salvador . It was founded on September 9, 1942. The first rector was José F. Arias , currently Prof. Wilson Netto Marturet holds this position. The UTU, which is oriented as a technical university, offers courses and programs in local branches of the university at several locations around the country.
