The Galileo University ( Universidad Galileo ) is a private university in Guatemala City . The rector is José Eduardo Suger Cofiño.

history

It was founded in 2000. Its founder and chairman, Eduardo Suger Cofiño, wanted to promote an innovative type of university that primarily offers technical courses and which, through its educational centers, comes close to students.

As early as 1978 , 96 students were studying at the computer science school approved the previous year, which was part of the Universidad Francisco Marroquín . On July 30, 1982 the activities of the Institute and the Faculty of Systems Engineering, Computer Science and Computer Science (FISICC) were officially appointed and Eduardo Suger as dean and Doctor Antonio and Guillot Mayra Roldan Ramirez as deputy. On October 31, 2000, with the approval of the Council for Private Universities (CEPS), the institute was transformed into the Universidad Galileo .
