The University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) (Mal. Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, English University of Malaysia, Sarawak) in Kota Samarahan in the state of Sarawak is a state university in Malaysia founded in 1992 . It was founded as part of the government's Vision 2020 program .

history

The university was founded in 1992 under the Vision 2020 program . It is the eighth state university in the country and the first to be established under the development program. In 1993, the course began with 30 lecturers and 118 students. The first faculties were the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology . From 1994 the number of departments was increased and the number of students increased continuously.
