The Universidad de Medellín ( UdeM ) is a state-recognized, privately owned university in the Colombian city of Medellín . It was founded on February 1, 1950.

Among other things, engineering and humanities are offered . The Universidad de Medellín is one of the leading Colombian universities in the field of law and is one of the few universities in Colombia to also offer doctoral programs in this field. There are sports facilities on campus and one of the largest theaters in the city with more than 1700 seats.

In 2010 the college had 12,217 students and Néstor Hincapié Vargas is the principal.

The interdisciplinary Biblioteca Eduardo Fernández Botero has more than 78,000 media units and over 800 journals.
