The University School Dresden is a joint project of the state capital Dresden and the Technical University of Dresden . It is a public and free elementary and secondary school run by the city , where innovative forms of teaching and learning are tested under scientific supervision. In addition, it will be a training and further education school at the TU Dresden for future and current teachers.

The University School Dresden is located in the Plauen district on Cämmerswalder Straße and started in the 2019/20 school year with grades 1, 2, 3 and 5. In the 2020/21 school year, grades 1 to 6 learn according to the concept in a cross-year, interdisciplinary, inclusive, full-day, multilingual, self-determined, cooperative and digitally supported manner. After the build-up phase, a three-class elementary and high school with levels 1 to 10 is planned. The school trial is initially approved for 15 years.

The concept of the University School Dresden was developed by a project group at the TU Dresden under the direction of Anke Langner, Chair of Educational Science with a focus on inclusive education, and is constantly being further developed.
