Lower Edelhof in Forchtenstein

The Untere Edelhof Forchtenstein is located on main street no. 75 in the municipality of Forchtenstein in the Mattersburg district in Burgenland. The building is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The Edelhof, built around 1300, has been preserved as a Renaissance building. As a knightly property, it also has the function of a dam. From 1627 it was the seat of the Esterházy county administration .

architecture

The courtyard gate of the wall shows the coat of arms of the Esterházy family . The Edelhof is a two-story building with two saddle roofs next to each other .
