Business broker

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A business broker or corporate broker is a middleman in sales of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The business broker (a person or a company) looks for a buyer for the company on behalf of the owner and accompanies the sales process through to successful completion. Business intermediaries are mainly active in the area of corporate succession. The company mediation service is often accompanied by complementary services such as company valuation .

The activity of a business broker can be compared to that of a real estate agent . While a real estate agent markets real estate, a business broker handles the sale of companies. If the company is successfully sold, the business broker receives an agreed commission . Active marketing and achieving the best possible sales price are the focus of his activities. Business brokerage has been practiced in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, England and Switzerland for years.
