Upper Austrian Research GmbH is a research company in Upper Austria. The UAR helps to define a research strategy for Upper Austria, to expand the competencies of the Upper Austrian research landscape in the strategic technology areas and to continuously develop the research structures of the state

Upper Austrian Research GmbH holds stakes in non-university research institutions (Member of UAR Innovation Network) and contributes its expertise there as a shareholder. Furthermore, the UAR acts in the governance of other research centers. In addition, the UAR promotes the interdisciplinary networking of research institutions within the UAR Innovation Network in order to meet the challenges of the digital age.

The UAR is an active member in the most important associations and networks - such as Research Austria and the Plattform Industrie 4.0 Austria at the national level or at the international level of the EARTO (European Association for Research and Technology Organizations). In addition, the UAR takes specific initiatives to network Upper Austria's research nationally and internationally with important innovation drivers from research and industry.

The UAR supports the project development through to the establishment of new centers and coordinates the respective stakeholders .
