The castle Pöllnitz is the ruin of a Wasserburg am Pöllnitzbach in the district Niederpöllnitz the community Harth-Pöllnitz in the district of Greiz ( Thuringia ).

In the 12th century the castle was the seat of the Pullnitz, servants of the Margraves of Meißen , of whom an Albertus Pullnitz was mentioned in 1130 . In 1238, the Wettin follower Gottschalk von Pöllnitz was mentioned. The Pöllnitzer were later vassals of the governors of Weida . They settled in Franconia in the 16th century .

After the castle was owned by the Lords of Planitz from the 15th to the 16th century , other owners followed.
Only the high, square keep with high entrance (now plastered) and small remains of the wall remain of the former castle complex.
