Upu

Upu is the name of a deity in Egyptian mythology . He was the protector of Hathor and fighter against the "enemies of the sun". He was depicted as a sitting, striding, or upright baboon with a toad face . In the crypts of Dendera there is a depiction of Upu holding long, pointed knives in his hands. Upu was later equated with the god Atum .
