history
Urania-Film was founded in 1956 by Erwin C. Dietrich . The first film was a Heimatfilm with Austrian participation. Dietrich then concentrated on Switzerland. Two films with Walter Roderer ran successfully . After founding a subsidiary in Munich, a detective film and a music revue followed, which, however, could not bring in their costs. Dietrich produced in Germany from 1962. The last film shot in Switzerland was released in 1967. The name Urania-Film disappeared in 1971 when it was renamed Elite Film.
