Urs Werder (* in Solothurn ; † July 4, 1499 in Bern ) was a Swiss glass painter .

Originally from Solothurn, Urs Werder was already a citizen of Bern before 1461 . In 1466 he became a member of the Grand Council. In the years 1479 to 1490 and 1498 to 1499 he was also a member of the Small Council of Bern. From 1490 to 1496 he was governor in Aigle . From 1468 to 1485 he was a member of the Society for Shoemakers , from 1472 to 1499 of the Society for Thistle Compulsions and finally from 1498 to 1499 of the Society for Middle Lions . Werder increasingly served Bern as a politician and diplomat rather than a glass painter. He left an immense fortune, which suggests a skilled trader and possibly even a banker.
