The Uruguay Cove is a bay on the north coast of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the Southern Orkney Islands . It is located in the western part of Jessie Bay .
Participants of the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition (1902-1904) mapped them in 1903. Expedition leader William Speirs Bruce named them after the Argentine corvette Uruguay , which from 1904 was used for many years to supply the neighboring Orcadas station .
