Usulutan
Coordinates: 13 ° 21 ′ N , 88 ° 26 ′ W
Usulután is the fourth largest city in El Salvador . It is also the capital ( cabecera ) of the Usulután Department in the southeast of the country. In 2018 the population was 73,064. The city is located in a fertile valley and has a large agricultural production.
The city was badly damaged in an earthquake in 2001. Hurricane Mitch also caused severe damage in 1998.
