Aeropuerto de La Chepona

The Aeropuerto de La Chepona is an airfield in El Salvador .

The unpaved runway with a usable length of around 1050 meters has an east-west orientation and is located around 18 kilometers as the crow flies south of the city of Usulután on the Isla de San Sebastián peninsula . The airport is managed by the Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma Commission.

At the western end of the runway there is a hangar and a gas station. The airfield is approved for light aircraft and serves to supply the settlement of agricultural workers, as there are no developed roads in this area. The only paved road leads from the airfield past the settlement in a southerly direction to a small port on the Pacific coast .
