The pear variety Uta is from the crossing of varieties Madame Verté and Bosc's Flaschenbirne the Institute of Fruit Research Dresden-Pillnitz emerged. This pear has been on the market since 1996.

The fruit is medium-sized, short-axed and completely rusted gold bronze. Uta has a firm pulp, is medium-juicy, melting with a strong aroma and a balanced sugar / acid ratio. Uta is really ready to be enjoyed when the bowl becomes slightly wrinkled around the handle. The enjoyment period is from mid-October to February.

The tree grows medium to weak and has a pyramidal habit with a lot of short side wood. The Uta tree is relatively robust, hardly scabs, is moderately susceptible to fire blight and susceptible to grating . Uta is diploid and a good pollinator variety.

Uta is most widespread worldwide in Austria. It was specifically planted here as part of a joint organic pear project by the St. Pölten Chamber of Agriculture , Steirerfucht and Deimel Tree Nursery, Ottendorf an der Rittschein . The marketing partner for this organic project is Steirerfrucht.
