Utagawa Hiromaru

Utagawa Hiromaru ( Japanese. 歌 川 広 丸 ) was a Japanese painter in the style of ukiyo-e who was active during the Bunka era (1804-17).

His teacher was Utagawa Toyohiro , he signed his work with Toba Hiromaru ( 鳥羽 広 丸 ). Some of his hanging scrolls, kakemono , depict beautiful women, bijin-ga . One is in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston , and another in the Tokyo National Museum . Color woodcuts by him are not known.
