Uwe Brauer

Uwe Brauer (born July 11, 1962 in Leverkusen ) is a former German national basketball player .

career

The 1.93-meter-tall build-up and winger went through the youth department of TuS 04 Leverkusen , in 1981 he became German A youth champions with the Rhinelanders. He made the leap into the Bundesliga team Leverkusen.

In 1983 he took part with the German national team at the European Championship and a year later at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles . Brauer scored an average of 2.9 points per game in seven appearances during the Olympic basketball tournament.

In 1985 and 1986 Brauer won the German championship with Leverkusen (now under the name TSV Bayer 04) and the DBB Cup in 1986 and 1987. From 1987 to 1989 and in the 1990/91 season he then played for Goldstar Hagen (then renamed Brandt Hagen ). In the Bundesliga he scored a total of 2279 points during his career.
