Uwe Köller

Uwe Köller (* 1964 in Neuss ) is a German trumpeter and university teacher.

Life

Uwe Köller began taking trumpet lessons in 1972. In the course of his musical training, he received a scholarship from the Herbert von Karajan Foundation . His career as a solo trumpeter began with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, and from 1991 he worked at the Deutsche Oper Berlin . From 1997 Uwe Köller taught as a visiting professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz . In 1999 he left the Deutsche Oper Berlin entirely in favor of teaching in Graz as a professor for trumpet. In addition, from 2000 to 2013 he was a trumpet teacher at the Folkwang University in Essen .

Ensembles

In 2000 he founded the Austrian Brass Band based on the English model and installed it at the University of Art in Graz, as well as starting the Folkwang Brass Band at the Folkwang University . Uwe Köller has been a permanent member of the German Brass formation since 1995 . Uwe Köller has been Kapellmeister of the Stadtkapelle Friedberg since October 2012.
