Lars Kuklinski

Lars Kuklinski (* 1977 in Essen ) is a German jazz musician ( trumpet , also flugelhorn , voice, electronics) who has also made a name for himself in the field of classical music .

Live and act

Kuklinski studied from 1998 to 2003 at the Folkwanghochschule with Uli Beckerhoff , and then in 2006 completed a postgraduate course in orchestral instruments with Uwe Köller . He also had lessons and attended workshops with Kenny Wheeler , Reiner Winterschladen , Bart van Lier , Bernhard Mergner , Andy Haderer , Herbert Hellhund , Günter "Baby" Sommer , Manfred Schoof and Matthias Höfs .

Kuklinski was a member of the Lower Saxony Jazz Orchestra under Herbert Hellhund and performed with the Franco-German Ensemble Jazzcomponium under Joël Drouin at the Expo 2000 . Jan Klare and Peter Eisold brought him to Supernova . Then he began to lead his own groups, with which he also released albums. He was a member of the Lower Saxony Jazz Art Ensemble under the direction of Ulli Orth (2004) and Gunter Hampel (2005). He belonged to Natalie's house Le diffuse and pop-jazz project Coustics of Albrecht Husen , published both in 2006 albums. Since 2006 he has also appeared as a soloist. He also performed with Peter Weiss , Norbert Gottschalk , Rocko Schamoni , Nguyên Lê , David Friedman , Rudi Mahall , Ingmar Heller , Rolf Zielke , Nils Wogram , Hayden Chisholm , Jean-Louis Rassinfosse and Matthias Nadolny . He can also be heard on albums by Katrin Scherer's unidentified flying orchestra and by Jan Klares The Dorf .

Prizes and awards

With the Lower Saxony Jazz Orchestra, Kuklinski received the Lower Saxony cultural promotion award. He was the winner of the Jazzpodium Niedersachsen with the Ulli Orth Quintet, Niels Klein Oktett (2000), Albrecht Husens Coustics (2001), Lars Kuklinski Septett (2002), Lars Kuklinski Quartet and Coustics (2003). Kuklinski won the 2nd prize at the national university competition for jazz bands in Rostock in 2001 with the group Das sheer Horror . He was awarded the Jazzwerk-Ruhr Förderpreis 2005 for Natalie Hausmann's Le Diffus . In 2008 he was awarded the Lower Saxony Jazz Prize for his Hermann Hesse Night Feeling program .
