Andy Haderer

Andy Haderer (* 16th December 1964 in Baden (Lower Austria) as Andreas Haderer ) is an Austrian jazz trumpeter .

After studying classical trumpet in Vienna, among others with Robert Politzer , Haderer worked as a musician in the musical Cats and in the ORF Big Band , but also as a soloist with Teddy Ehrenreich and in smaller formations such as Jazz Ahead . 1985–1988 he played with the Radio Big Band Zurich , from 1986 also with Peter Herbolzheimer's Rhythm Combination & Brass . Since 1988 he has been the lead trumpeter in the WDR Big Band Cologne . In 1999 he was appointed professor for jazz trumpet at the Cologne University of Music . His students included Christoph Moschberger and Matthias Schriefl .

Haderer also worked with Clark Terry , the Brecker Brothers , Joe Zawinul , Jay Clayton , Phil Collins , Diane Schuur , Patti Austin , Michael Gibbs , the Vienna Art Orchestra , the Vienna Big Band Machine and the Gentlemen of Sound .
