Fabio Corba

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fabio Corba (born December 5, 1964 in Vaduz ) is a Liechtenstein painter , sculptor , journalist and book author.

Life

Since 1990 the autodidact has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions. He made his artistic beginnings with painting. Between 1990 and 1995, well over 1,000 acrylic and oil paintings were created in his studio . The most important images from this creative period are recorded in the illustrated book Acceleration of Life (limited edition).

A little later wood became the most important material in his work. In Corba's large sculptures, the viewer experiences artistically reshaped nature. The grown nature of the wood, which has remained dominant despite the abstraction, seems to speak and allows previously unknown interpretations. Fabio Corba also forms large-scale sculptures out of ice (particularly spectacular thanks to the play of light at night through the inclusion of fire) and snow. His works are mostly in the open air, and the transience of his objects becomes particularly evident.

Fabio Corba has received various awards and prizes for his artistic work.
