Christoph Moschberger

Christoph Moschberger (born October 25, 1985 in Achern ) is a German trumpeter , composer and arranger .

Career

From 1993 onwards, Moschberger received trumpet lessons in the music association of his home village Diersheim . His teacher was Georg Weyerer, professional trumpeter a. a. with Erwin Lehn and Ernst Mosch . With his big band Top C , Moschberger played in 1998 a. a. in the opening act for Maynard Ferguson at some concerts in southern Germany. From 2002 to 2005 he also took classical trumpet lessons with Johannes Sondermann in Freiburg.

In 2002, together with five other musicians from the region, Moschberger founded the Ensemble Sextakkord , where he was able to gain his first experience as an arranger and band leader.

From 2002 to 2004, Moschberger was lead trumpeter in the Baden-Württemberg Youth Jazz Orchestra , under the direction of Bernd Konrad . In 2004 the band toured China, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia at the invitation of the Goethe Institute.

From 2005 to 2007 Moschberger played in the federal jazz orchestra (bujazzo) under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer and Bill Dobbins and received lessons a. a. by Ack van Rooyen . From 2006 to 2011 he studied jazz trumpet at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Andy Haderer and Matthias Bergmann .

In 2008 he was appointed lead trumpeter to the European Jazz Orchestra , a selected orchestra of young European jazz musicians that is reassembled every year. Under the direction of Nils Klein , the orchestra went on a European tour, including concerts at the Moers Festival and in the Klaus von Bismark Hall of the WDR , where the CD "Live 2008" was recorded. From 2007 to 2015 Moschberger was the lead trumpeter of the Blassportgruppe . With the band he played hundreds of concerts in German-speaking countries, appeared at festivals and on television and released three CDs.

Since 2011, Moschberger has been a flugelhorn player and trumpeter with " Ernst Hutter and the Egerländer Musikanten - the original" . He tours regularly with the orchestra and has participated in several CD and DVD productions.

With the band The Willit Blend he produced the CD "Rainbow's End" in 2012, on which he also appears as a composer for the first time.

Since 2014 he has been the trumpeter of Grosch's Eleven , the live band of the music TV show “ Sing my Song - The Exchange Concert ”. On this TV production he worked with Xavier Naidoo , Roger Cicero , Sarah Connor , Nena , Andreas Bourani , Yvonne Catterfeld , Andreas Gabalier , Annett Louisan , Lena Meyer-Landrut , Christina Stürmer , Samy Deluxe , Gregor Meyle , Sasha , Seven , The BossHoss , Wolfgang Niedecken together.

Since 2015 he has been a trumpeter with Gregor Meyle, whom he met as part of “Sing my Song”. He also works as arranger and musical director for the singer's live band.

Since 2018 he has been the trumpeter of the Kölsch rock band "Niedeckens BAP" around singer Wolfgang Niedecken.

In 2019 Christoph Moschberger released his first solo album "Home". A coproduction with the Austrian brass band "da Blechhauf'n".

Moschberger worked with the WDR-Bigband , the WDR-Funkhausorchester , the hr-Bigband , the heavytones , the Stuttgart Philharmonic , the Kassel State Orchestra , the Subway Jazz Orchestra , the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen , Barbra Streisand , Tom Gaebel , Marc Marshall , Billy Cobham , David Liebman , Michael Abene , Vince Mendoza , Thomas Quasthoff , Söhne Mannheims , Paquito d'Rivera , Get Well Soon .
