Diane Schuur
Diane Joane Schuur (born December 10, 1953 in Tacoma , Washington ) is an American jazz singer and pianist .
Life
Diane Schuur made her first appearance as a country singer at the age of 10 . However, her big break came in 1979 when Stan Getz discovered her at the Monterey Jazz Festival and invited her to join him at a concert at the White House . In 1984 she was invited again by Nancy Reagan . In 1987 and 1988 she was awarded a Grammy for the best female vocal performance in jazz. Her album Heart To Heart , released in 1994, was created in collaboration with BB King , and the 2003 album Midnight with Barry Manilow .
Diane Schuur has been blind since she was born.
