Peter Eisold

Peter Eisold (born June 7, 1959 in Dortmund ) is a German drummer and composer of fusion jazz .

Eisold, who had piano lessons from the age of four, studied music. During his studies he joined Alois Kott and Evert Brettschneider , with whom he played in the “ Contact Trio ”, went on international tours and recorded the album “Music”. Then he founded the group “ Blue Box ” with Kott and Reiner Winterschladen , with whom he recorded the 1985 album “Sweet Machine”, which was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize. In autumn 2005, the major opus Limbic System Files was co-authored with Alois Kott as a commissioned composition for the hr big band and nuBox feat. DJ Illvibe premiered at the German Jazz Festival in Frankfurt (studio version 2008 at enja ).

He also played with Matthias Schubert , Ulla Oster's band , with Jan Klar's “Supernova” orchestra and the toy tones , in the Bravo trio and with his pansonics_trio . Eisold also appears with solo concerts. With Jürgen Diemer he developed an interactive photo / music project sonarcities ruhr for the Internet.

For 2016 Eisold was awarded the Ruhr Prize for Art and Science .
