Club des Belugas

Club des Belugas is a nu jazz and lounge formation in Germany. The core of Club des Belugas consists of Maxim Illion and Kitty the Bill ; they are supported by various jazz singers and instrumentalists, including Reiner Winterschladen , Mickey Neher , Brenda Boykin and Ester Rada.

history

The project was founded in 2002 in Wuppertal . The first album was released in the same year, Caviar at 3 am , followed by Minority Tunes in 2003 . In 2006 the third album apricoo soul followed , on which is the world's first remix of Martin's classic Mambo Italiano authorized by Capitol Records / EMI and the family of Dean Martin . Two years later, in 2008, SWOP was released, and Zizaro Zoo the following year . Forward appeared in 2012 ; from this album the single Save a Little Love for Me was released. In 2013 the album The ChinChin Sessions was released , which was created in collaboration with the Mannheim trumpeter Thomas Siffling .

Club des Belugas have released their albums Forward and The ChinChin Sessions (as of 2013) on the Chinchin Records label; previously you were under contract with audiographics .

Multiple recordings, e.g. B. hip hip chin chin and Gadda Rio (both on the album Minority Tunes ), reached the German club charts and were able to position themselves in the top ten. In total, pieces by the band have been sold on more than four million records, including not only CDs by the band themselves, but also various compilations . Club des Belugas give concerts all over the world, including at jazz festivals. Between 2007 and 2010 alone they were seen live more than a hundred times. Between June and September 2007 the band went on a concert tour of the People's Republic of China .

Their music has been used in numerous commercials by major companies such as: B. for spots from various car manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW .

In addition to acoustic instruments, electronically generated sounds are often used. The influence of jazz , soul , latin , swing and lounge can be heard; mostly the pieces are very danceable.
