Mathias Höderath (* 1973 in Cologne ) is a German keyboard player of fusion and jazz music .

Live and act

Höderath initially received classical and jazz-specific piano lessons from Siegfried Koepf. He then studied jazz piano with John Taylor and Frank Chastenier at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . As early as 1999 he appeared with Daniela Panteleit & Band at the Jazz Festival Montreux . As a keyboard player he accompanied numerous artists such as B. Clueso , Juliette Schoppmann , Philippe , Thomas Godoj , the group Wind , Vanilla Ninja and Lena Meyer-Landrut .

Concerts with his own band projects such as Anikó, Son de la Goutte, Schnucki / The Shack Band or Lyman took Höderath through Germany and other European countries. He toured Japan and Korea with the group Sweetbox in 2005 and 2006 and recorded a live DVD there in 2005. He can also be heard on the albums of Big Gee and Nino de Angelo .

In addition to the Mathias Höderath Trio, for which he composed himself and with which he released his debut album in 2010, he belongs to bands such as anna.luca, the live quartet of Club des Belugas , Pimps im Park and The Soul Criminals. In addition to television appearances with Phil Collins , Berger , Ronan Keating , Daniel Küblböck , Sandy Mölling , Lucy Diakovska and Die Anrheiner or Unter uns , he has also worked for musical productions. In 2008 he developed a music quiz for the show Die Beste Klasse Deutschlands .

Höderath has been teaching pop keyboard / jazz piano at the Institute for Music and Media at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf since 2010 .

Prizes and awards

Höderath has won several awards in the Jugend jazzt competition. In 2005 he and the group Big Gee received the German Pop Prize in the Funk category as the best band. In 2000 he won the Daimler Chrysler jazz competition with Daniela Panteleit and his band.
