Musical philosophy
Nils Wogram's music is deeply rooted in the tradition of jazz. Nevertheless, he tries to expand this language by using musical materials that do not come from jazz. This includes other forms of rhythm, shape, and melodic and harmonic material. Nils Wogram is a fan of “real bands” with their own ensemble sound. Most of its formations have existed for many years. Nils Wogram believes that the best music is played by permanent bands / ensembles. As a band leader, his great role models are Duke Ellington and Miles Davis.
