Natalie Hausmann

Natalie Hausmann (* 1978 ) is a German jazz musician ( saxophone , composition , also flute ).

Live and act

Hausmann studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen with Matthias Nadolny and Hugo Read . In 2001 she was a member of the JugendJazzOrchester NRW ; In 2005 she received a scholarship for a workshop in Banff , Canada . a. Had lessons with Don Byron , Dave Douglas , Greg Osby and Martin Zilber . In the same year she won the “Jazzwerk Ruhr” sponsorship award for her project “le diffus”. In 2006 she and her band Le diffus ( Lars Kuklinski , trumpet, Roman Babik piano, Fender Rhodes, Michael Kehraus , bass and Patrick Hengst , drums) presented her debut album transversale ( JazzHausMusik ). In the following years she worked with the Grillo-Theater Essen as well as with parts of the string ensemble of the Philharmonie Essen and the Philharmonie Duisburg and performed with various ensembles (such as le diffus , CK-10, Electric Bazaar, 4Jazz ) for the she also wrote compositions. She also contributed music for the film Kunststücke (directed by Mathias Frick ), a documentary film about the Berlin art scene. She also wrote parts of the stage music for the cabaret artist Philip Simon and arranged music for television productions. From 2009 to 2013 she lived as a freelance saxophonist and composer in Berlin before moving to Cologne. At the beginning of 2014 she took part in recordings by pianist Joachim Raffel and recorded the album Berchero's Odyssey in Prague with the ensemble “Pénte” of Czech double bass player Tomáš Liška .
