A feeling of fullness is the term used to describe flatulence , which can be explained by swallowed air, excessive gas formation in the intestinal area or poor gas evacuation. The belly bulges forward strongly and tenses.

The feeling of fullness is generally expressed as an ineffectual feeling of being "full", which gives it its name. In severe cases, cramps and colicky pain can also occur. Feelings of fullness occur among other things in the context of various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (e.g. gastritis , irritable bowel syndrome , exocrine pancreatic insufficiency ).
