The Vīgners Monument is a memorial to the conductor and composer Leonīds Vīgners in the Latvian capital Riga .

It is located in Basteiberg Park on the eastern edge of Riga's old town, north of the Latvian National Opera . Aspasia Boulevard (Latvian Aspazijas bulvāris) runs west of the monument.

The 2.45 meter high monument consists of a bust depicting Leonīd Vīgner, enthroned on a granite stele . It was unveiled on May 3, 2007. The bust was originally created by Lea Davidova-Medene in 1955. The use for the memorial goes back to an idea of the children of Vīgner, Daina Vīgnere and Ivar Vigner. The sculptor Dzintars Lemhens made a plaster cast of the bust, which then served as a template for the monument. The metal work was done by Guntis Dubavs , while Edvīns Vecumnieks was involved as an architect .

On the stele below the bust is the inscription in Latvian :

COMPOSERS
PROFESORS

1906 2001

(German: Leonīds Vīgners Conductor Composer Professor 1906 to 2001 )
