The Norwegian steam locomotive series V.B. 5 in 1910 as a single piece from the Saxon machine factory of Richard Hartmann in Chemnitz lock Chemnitz , Germany , with the serial number 3405 for Valdresbane built.

history

The ordered on 27 September 1909 wet steam - compound locomotive received after delivery in June 1910, the serial number and the name of 5 JOTUNHEIMEN .

Used by Norges Statsbaner

With the expiry of the concession for the private Valdresbane on July 1, 1937, the entire Valdresbane and the locomotive were taken over by Norges Statsbaner . There it was given the new series designation NSB 51a and the new company number 21 . It was used in the Oslo district , where it remained until it was retired on August 24, 1953. After the decommissioning, the locomotive was scrapped .
