VA Wölfl
VA Wölfl (* 1944 in Rouen ; actually: Volker Armin ) is an action and video artist, painter, photographer and choreographer.
Career
Wölfl studied painting from 1961 to 1966 at the Summer Academy in Salzburg with Oskar Kokoschka , then from 1966 to 1969 at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Otto Steinert and Willi Fleckhaus photography.
He went to New York, where he worked as a fashion photographer for several years, and has been a freelance artist ever since. In the mid-1980s, he and Wanda Golonka founded the independent dance group Neuer Tanz , which is based in Schloss Benrath in Düsseldorf. In 2008 he was nominated for the German Theater Prize DER FAUST in the category Best Choreography .
In 2007 he was admitted to the Academy of Arts , Performing Arts section.
