VDI 6020

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The VDI 6020 is a guideline of the Society for Building equipment of the Association of German Engineers drafted eV is the Directive in German and English and describes the minimum requirements for calculation methods for thermal and energy performance of buildings and TGA systems by simulation. It unifies the multitude of boundary conditions and evaluation criteria. Using test examples, it offers the possibility of a fundamental review of the procedures used.

In the preliminary remark of Sheet 1 of the guideline published in May 2001, the major changes in the planning and implementation of air conditioning and heating systems in the last two decades are discussed. Here, the cost pressure, the need for energy-efficient systems and the striving for comfort in the supplied rooms are related to the available calculation methods. The last sentence of the Preliminary remark section explains that the guideline should consist of two sheets: Sheet 1 building simulation and Sheet 2 system simulation. Sheet 2, however, has not been published. In the draft of VDI 6020 published in September 2016, the term thermal-energetic system simulation (TEA) introduced in Part 1 is no longer discussed. Rather, the definition of the thermal-energetic building simulation (TEG) is expanded to include thermal feedback with the system technology and the usage specifications (operating mode and control strategy).
