Contract number
The contract number of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (VKNR) identifies health insurance companies for billing purposes . The legal basis for this is § 15 of the 1st amendment to the contract on data exchange on data carriers (Annex 6 of the federal shell contract for doctors of July 1, 2018).
The VKNR is structured as follows:
- 1st and 2nd digit: Number of the KV clearing office
- 3rd to 5th position: serial number of the health insurance company within the insurance type
