VK 36.01 (H)

The VK 36.01 (H) was an experimental German heavy tank developed during World War II .

Only eight chassis and a complete prototype were produced by Henschel . At that time, Henschel was commissioned to develop a groundbreaking weapon that would be on par with the current heavy tank models of the Red Army . Other experimental heavy tanks and super heavy tanks were built, designed, and tested by Henschel. The experience gained from the VK 36.01 (H) project served as the basis for the development of the VK 45.01 (H), the prototype of the VI "Tiger" armored combat vehicle .
