Johann Philipp Karl Josef von Bibra (born April 16, 1706 ; † July 19, 1758 ) was a civil servant and diplomat in the Würzburg monastery and Bamberg monastery from the Bibra family .

Von Bibra was the son of the Würzburg privy councilor and bailiff to Bischoffsheim Christoph Dietrich von Bibra (1673–1731) and his wife Maria Katharina von Erthal. While the father was a Protestant, the mother was a Catholic. Von Bibra was the godchild of Würzburg bishop Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau zu Vollraths .

In 1734 he married Johanna Charlotte Schutzbar called Milchling (* 1714). The marriage resulted in four sons.

  • Franz Ludwig Ignatz von Bibra (1735–1790), Bamberg Oberamtmann and Kurmainzer governor on the Eichsfeld
  • Carl Philipp Rudolf Josef von Bibra (1740–1789), Canon in Bamberg
  • Theodor Josef Hartmann Christof von Bibra (1741–1805), privy councilor of Fulda
  • Friedrich Wilhelm von Bibra (1746–1769)

Life

From 1723 to 1726 he was canon in Bamberg. Then he entered service in Würzburg. From 1729 he was Bamberg, at times also Würzburg, Augsburg and Constance comitial envoy to the Reichstag in Regensburg and the Bamberg and Würzburg Council. In addition, he was a bailiff in the Würzburg offices of Mellrichstadt and Münnerstadt .

Since 1751 he was in Bamberg's service (except for the Würzburg council office). He was on February 5, 1751 Obermarschall and on February 24, 1752 also Oberamtmann in the office of Weismain . On November 27, 1756, he moved to the Marloffstein office as senior bailiff .
